The objective is to increase household food security among the communities. CTDO supports the development of appropriate agricultural technologies, farmer innovations, local knowledge systems and sustainable natural resources utilization.
The major thrust of the programe is to address food insecurity caused by the recurrent droughts and climatic change, targeting beneficiaries affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in different aspects of relief, rehabilitation and development programmes. Another focus is made at redressing negative effects of both renewable and non-renewable natural resources against the background of climatic change and desertification. This requires integrated approaches in terms of conservation, sustainable use, environmental justice and equity at community level.
